Other Programs

The following funds are allocated to National Emergency, Operational costs, and other needs.

Fund 50 - MN American Legion Foundation

This fund’s income is primarily interest on held funds and donations earmarked for the Foundation Operating costs. The funds are distributed according to need to: other funds; to pay operational expenses (eg. travel and per diem for meetings; Foundation Scholarships; Oratorical Contest expenses; ROTC medals and ribbons; donation requests). Additionally, distributions are made to special projects (eg. run up expenses on new VA Homes, Cemetaries, similar).

Fund 61 - National Emergency Fund (NEF)

This fund was set up to accept National Emergency Fund donations which will be presented at the National Convention in the year the funds were raised.

Fund 63 - ROTC / Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Scholarships

The ROTC / Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Scholarship fund was established many years ago by The American Legion Department of Minnesota. The purpose is to provide funds for the ROTC and CAP scholarships. The National Security/Foreign Relations Committee oversees the scholarships and this dedicated fund.

Fund 64 - Armed Forces Service Center at MSP

The Armed Forces Service Center has been in the Minneapolis/St Paul Airport since 1970. Located inside security at the MSP Terminal 1, it provides food, beverages, a TV lounge, computer, printer, luggage storage, dining room, playroom, separate bunk rooms for men and women with a crib,  three bathrooms, lactation station and a shower to active duty military, Purple Heart recipients and Dept of Defense ID card holders (includes dependents, retirees in 100% DAV).

Fund 76 - American Legion Memorial

Funding is from memorials of former American Legion members. The funds provide scholarships which are awarded by the Americanism Committee.
